Interested in becoming a Veterinarian?
Wellington Veterinary Clinic is a state of art facility dedicated to offering services from complete wellness to advanced medicine with compassion and professionalism. We are staffed by a highly motivated and passionate team of veterinarians, technicians, and support personnel who all started just like you!! We all want to help animals! Our career driven course is structured for children in middle school, grades 6th through 8th. We start each 2 hour session with a hospital tour and then gather in an exam room where we start our case study to show what the Dr would do during an exam and complete work-up on a patient with a medical illness. Each student will receive a chart to record their findings. We will look at various lab samples to see what a normal and an abnormal sample would look like. After the lab, we will then head to radiology where we will look at some radiographs and how they are taken and what information we can learn from them. Finally our case study will take us to preparing a patient for surgery and what that involves. Afterward, we will sit down and answer any questions you may have about careers in veterinary medicine.
Each student will take home a completed chart of your patient including pictures, blood results and more, a T-Shirt and information on Veterinary Careers. Sessions will repeat every Friday from 10am-12pm beginning June 11 and ending August 13th with a maximum of 5 students per session.
